Overview

In Module 2: Wiring and Controls, we start to get into the internal components of commercial burners. The session will help you recognize and understand combustion controls that you could find yourself working with on Beckett commercial burners including the GeniSys control and the New Honeywell RM2000 Series fame safeguard We'll also look at the differences between the RM2000 and the RM7800 flame safeguard that commercial technicians have worked on for decades. We'll then review the CSD-1 impact on flame sensing types used on commercial burners and at what point in capacity. And we'll finish with learning to field wire the Beckett CF commercial oil burner (what goes where and when). When you're done with Module 2: Wiring and Controls, you should be able to:

  • Use the wiring diagrams provided with each burner
  • Identify the wiring terminals used on the CF1000-3500 and CG15-CG50 burners
  • Recognize the series of the control used on Beckett commercial burners
  • Understand the code requirements for control functionality
  • State the types of flame sensing used on firing rates above the CSD-1 threshold
  • Apply an operating control to the 7800 series controls
  • Wire a burner for Low/High/Low operation
  • Recognize Honeywell’s new RM2000 series controls

The session is approximately 60-minutes and includes a presentation and Q&A Session with our Technical Specialist, Jim Todd.
